How zones work

Each fishmonger stores a point on the map at the shop and a radius in metres. When you enter a postcode we look it up and ask whether that point sits inside the circle (PostGIS ST_DWithin). Borough names, congestion-charge rings, and a pretty heatmap are not part of the check. Two streets in the same postcode district can disagree.

Same-day delivery

Every order is received for the same day. The fishmonger packs it at the counter and sends it today — not tomorrow, and not on a date you pick. Shops still have opening hours; if a counter is closed, it will not appear as available. Borough Sea Counter and the other shops on Fish@Hom work this way: order now, packed today.

Fees and free delivery

There is no single Fish@Hom delivery price. Fees and free-over thresholds belong to the shop packing the bag. You see them on the shop card and again at checkout. Commission on our side is taken from the fish total, not from the delivery fee.

Packing and chilled transport

The fishmonger packs to order at the counter. There is no central packing room. The cold chain is the short one: chilled from the shop, same-day, inside a few kilometres. We do not run overnight trunking from a depot. Treat it like fish you bought in person — refrigerate when it arrives; do not leave it in a hall.

If you are outside the zone

The postcode checker will say the shop cannot reach you. Checkout checks again, so a saved postcode from last week will not sneak through if you have moved, or if the shop has tightened its radius. Do not use a neighbour's postcode. If nobody covers you yet, that is the current map — three counters, three circles.
